What do you hope to achieve mate? Converting an MP3 to WAV won't make it sound better, if anything it'll make it sound worse with the possibility of adding artefact's.

Realistically, the sound quality will stay exactly the same as the MP3. Definitely no improvement.

Plenty of reasons for it though in a production setting as most production software works much more efficiently with uncompressed files.

Im a bit green when it comes to the digital side of things.  I just got some CDJ100's thought they only played Wav files and ive got loads of MP3????  Thats why i am thinking of converting??

I know this thread is a bit old but im having the same problem.

Ive down loaded a heap of tracks as mp3's and converted them using nero to wav files and yes they do sound shit.

I also have sound forge, how do i burn the mp3's as audio ???

When you burn a CD, you have a choice to burn as a data disc or an audio disc. If you burn a mix CD, that is audio right, if you burn a software disc thats a data disc. So, burn like you would a mix CD but use 10 .mp3 tracks. The only thing you need to remember is when someone says an .mp3 disc, they mean a data disc that has folders set linked to the .mp3 files, its not something you can use in an audio player.

Yeah exactly, CDJ1000 mk3 will play .mp3 discs but that's only the mk3.
